Scenes in Sunday night’s episode of The Only Way Is Essex were filmed at Park Resorts
Wow I am “well jel” that some of my Park Resorts pals got to meet the cast and crew of The hit ITV2 show, The Only Way Is Essex (#TOWIE) last week! It turns out that Mick owns a Lodge Holiday Home at our very own Naze Marine Holiday Park in Essex!! How had I never heard about this before?? I would definitely have planned a few more park visits had I known. But hey “Don’t be jel, just be reem!” so here’s what happened on the day Park Resorts mingled with the TOWIE stars, from our very own Sarah Tadman and Jade Crawford (yes that’s right, I wasn’t there remember! 
The scenes will be shown in the episode first aired on Sunday 12th February 2012.
“So a normal day to day visit to Naze Marine Holiday Park…
…turns out to be the day we met some of the cast from The Only Way Is Essex, known by everyone as #TOWIE.
Being one of the millions who religiously tune into watch the show every Sunday and Wednesday you could only imagine how excited we were at actually meeting some of the cast. Not only are we both fans of a few of the cast’s pages on Facebook but also have to admit to following them on Twitter too.
The day started with an introduction to Mick (he owns a very tasty Lodge Holiday Home on the Park) who arrived before everyone else to make sure his Lodge was spic and span.
As if meeting Mick wasn’t surreal enough we were just getting over that when Mario rocks up in his huge Audi Q7 looking extremely flash! Soon after Joey Essex arrived with Diaggs in his tiny Smart car (Looking “reem” though of course), followed by some paparazzi! They all stayed in their cars for a bit whilst all the girls in the office were peeping out at them (discreetly of course). Then Joey emerged looking well reem in his unique romper suit carrying a large brown guitar! The office was buzzing with the cast and crew all gathered around talking. (Jade works in Sales so she’s used to the office buzzing but this was way better than a normal day at the office!)
Right about now the giddy school girl Sarah was in full swing! Heehee. We said hello to the boys and had our pictures taken with them, they were only too happy to pose for numerous photos which is always nice. After all the pics had been taken the boys relaxed and had something to drink and Joey played his guitar in preparation for the campfire scene that they were about to shoot (our Malcolm tried to teach him a few chords which was amusing!).
Arg was last to arrive and he’d forgotten to wear pants. He turns up, walks in and says to Malcolm ‘Is there anywhere near where I can get some boxers?’. The resounding response was ‘Are you serious, what have you done?’. Turns out he was going commando that day! haha so we rushed off to find the nearest shop, overwhelmed that Arge from TOWIE had just asked us to buy his pants!! Later that day it was revealed that they had a beach scene to shoot with all the guys running in only their pants into the sea (ah-ha then it all made sense). We found some in Peacocks (we’re framing the receipt!). When we handed them over Arg asked us which ones we thought he should wear. So now we consider ourselves stylists to the stars Our recommended black boxers are featured in Sunday nights show!! Now there’s a claim to fame! And speaking of claims to fame, one TOWIE lad took quite a shine to Jade and even asked for her number… we’ll keep that little secret to ourselves though
Mick’s Lodge Holiday Home…
We had a few more pictures taken with Mick and Arg and then the production team wanted to start filming (killjoys!)…. We watched them do a few scenes as they were coming onto the park and driving up to the lodge. It was funny to see how the boys were so astounded at the sight of Mick’s lodge and still completely shocked on further inspection. They’d been ribbing him about owning a caravan on a Holiday Park but when they saw it for themselves it was immediately apparent that they understood why people choose to buy a caravan or lodge! Caravans and Lodges are far more modern, stylish, comfy and affordable than people think!
Time for filming the scenes for Sunday 12th February 2012…
So, we watched them shoot a few scenes and then they went off to film the beach scenes (you may have seen a few scantily clad pics of the boys running into the sea in the press the following day! We got to see that first hand 
But we’ve been sworn to secrecy so couldn’t let any pics or info slip out until after tonight’s show!)
It was such an amazing day and one we will never forget. We suppose that’s the perks of the job every now and then hey We hope the boys enjoyed meeting us too and hopefully we’ll see them again some time. We got an invite to the Sugar Hut so we’ll get our glitz and glam at the ready for that night out! The boys were all very impressed with Mick’s Lodge so maybe they’ll be having some reem get-togethers there again in the future. We hope we get another invite! Thanks boys for a truly amazing day! We are proper star struck, hundred percent!”

The Essex Sunshine Coast!
… I hope they visit again soon! And I’ll sneak my way in next time! Hehe. Personally, I love watching TOWIE but I appreciate that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. What I do love though is that it publicises Essex a bit more (not necessarily for all the right reasons) but it is a lovely coastline with 7 miles of sandy and shingle beaches. That’s why they call it the Essex Sunshine Coast! It’s the ideal location for your traditional british seaside holiday – sun, sea, sand, all the fun of the fair, great local attractions and just generally something for everyone!
TOWIE may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s definitely a favourite of Park Resorts and we feel very privileged to have such a thoroughly charming group of Essex lads enjoying one of our Parks. Hope you are watching tonight! We sure will be!!!

Mick was staying over night with the lads in his caravan, but I thought the park was not open yet and you could not stay over night, or was this just a story set up for the programme? Thks
Hi Sarah. It wasn’t ‘set up’ for the programme as such but it did make it look like the lads were staying overnight, which they didn’t. I thought the same thing when I watched it. They actually all drove back after those finals scenes outside the holiday home. If it had been a little later in the year then they could have stayed overnight, especially as its so cosy in Mick’s lodge

Wow, your actually proud that this show was at your park? are you mad? Its complete and utter rubbish. I was thinking about buying a lodge in this area, but I think I will move on to a more upmarket park.
We’re very pleased that Caravan ownership, and in fact our park, was portrayed on ITV2. And we were also pleased to see how people’s perceptions of Caravan Ownership changed when they saw how luxurious Mick’s holiday home really was. There is sometimes still a stigma around caravan ownership and people envisage the mobile homes of old. Whereas, actually, modern static caravans are so much more comfortable, stylish and popular than many people realise. We hope that our appearance on the programme helped bring this to light.
