A minute with Andy Cressey General Manager Skipsea Sands Holiday Park

A minute with Andy Cressey, new General Manager at Skipsea Sands Holiday Park talking about his new role, what he loves about Park Resorts and his hopes for the future.

Describe your personality in three words?

Straight forward, happy and conscientious.

How long have you been working at Park Resorts?

I have worked at Park Resorts for three years but I have worked in the industry for 22 years. 

What excites you about working for Park Resorts?

Before arriving at Skipsea Sands I was General Manager at Camber Sands Holiday Park.  The business is always a challenge.  Looking after, and keeping happy 650 owner families sees to that. I guess the challenge is always looking at ways to improve.

What excites you about Skipsea Sands and the surrounding area?

I am coming back to my home land!  I have heard great things about the park and I am looking forward to meeting everyone and making a difference.

What changes do you hope to make to improve the Owner experience at Skipsea Sands?

I will always be honest and upfront with people and I hope all owners will appreciate this approach.  I can only assure all owners that my personal approach is one that gets things done and if it is something I cannot address personally I will inform you.  There is no fluff, or grey areas.  I also ensure my team adopt the same attitude.

My expectations are that each Head of Department takes responsibility for their department –including looking after our owners.  Having said this, my door is open.   I do delegate work to members of my team who are fully trained and capable to deal with certain matters as this leaves me the opportunity to deal with the things that only I can deal with.  I will always be involved from behind the scenes and fully aware of what’s happening on park.

What’s the best thing a customer has ever said to you about their experience?

Following the announcement of my move, I have received several very nice complimentary emails for the work I have done.

What hopes do you have for Skipsea Sands for the future?

I want to stay there for a very long time and make all staff and owners proud to be part of Skipsea Sands Holiday Park.  I intend to ensure that our service is second to none and everybody buys into it.  I can’t wait to meet everyone on Park and get cracking. I am in this for the long haul.
